David Foster Wallace Was Found Dead

A police spokesman says writer David Foster Wallace was found dead in his home in southern California. He was 46.

Jackie Morales, a clerk with the police records of Claremont, said Wallace's wife found her husband had hanged himself on his return home on Friday 9:30 pm.

Wallace, the first roman''De sweeper system'', gained at the national level, but his most famous work of 1996 was Infinite jest''.''

He received a genius grant from the MacArthur Foundation in 1997 and has taught creative writing and English at nearby Pomona College.
